Burn, Baby, Burn!

We knew we needed to get into some kind of shape before we could tackle the tough task of promoting our neighborhood and clients. So we dragged our physically UN-fit bodies to 015 Workout wondering if 15 minutes a day were enough to get us on track. It took 14 minutes longer than either of us could bear. Months later, we realize just how much we owe to our friends Mike Barretta and Shawn McKeown at 015. Our 15-minutes of fat-burning exercises gave us the pep we needed to keep the pace. Here’s a brief re-cap of the whirlwind.

For starters, more than 300 guests joined us for our 2nd annual “Affair to Remember” sponsored by Cescaphe Ballroom. This black tie business networking event featured PRH clients and their sons modeling formal wear by Chadmoore, Goldstein’s, Pat & Anna Scioli and Rudi’s. Our RowHome models dazzled guests in gowns provided by Red Carpet Prom & Bridal. (see page 40 for details)

PRH launched its “River to River. One Neighborhood” campaign at the event with the presentation of our Blue Sapphire Awards to six business leaders. And D. Olivieri Jewelers unveiled our new “River to River” bracelets for men and women, designed exclusively for PRH by Dan Olivieri. A portion of the proceeds will benefit our Scholarship Fund at Ss. Neumann-Goretti High School (see page 67).

Last month, we cut the ribbon on our first “River to River” Billboard on the 1800 block of East Passyunk Avenue (above Isabella’s Pizza between Mifflin & Moore). The familiar faces of 21 local businesses invite the public to “Go Home Philly! Stop & Shop at our local spots. (see page 92)

 

We are also busy taping segments of the Real Estate Connection, a cable TV program that airs every Thursday at 7 p.m. before two million viewers. Once a month, PRH will present its own segment of the show, thanks to producer Steve Kwasnik, featuring PRH clients (guests and advertisers) from the real estate industry. PRH is helping local schools and nonprofits raise money through its WishRock Programs. We launched our first WishRock Fundraiser to benefit the Patrick P. Bombino Scholarship Fund on behalf of Neumann/Goretti High School. Annunciation BVM, Variety Club and UNICO are also participating in WishRock Fundraisers. (see page 67 for details.)

As you can see, we have been spending these past several months growing

the business and broadening our scope to reach a larger audience – efforts that will benefit our advertisers as well as our growing list of readers.
